Actually I believe using oil revenues to rebuild Iraq is a good idea - but an idea that doesn't go far enough.  We should take the oil fields and split the revenues several ways. A part to the Iraqis and a other parts to the allies - mainly the US to pay for what this war has cost.  Additionally the oil should be put on the market at a much lower cost than the current rate - say $50 a barrel to drive down the current ridicolous speculative rate per barrel.

There should be no problem in Iraq paying for the war that freed them from Hussein's reign of terror.  Part of that payment should be a lump sum payment of $2 million dollars to the family of every fallen US or allied soldier.  That will never repay them for the loss, but it is the least we and Iraq can do for their sacrifice.
